Dr Jaise Kuriakose is a Lecturer in Climate Change and Resilience at the University of Manchester and a member of the Tyndall Centre. His interdisciplinary research focuses on developing Net Zero energy systems that are resilient to climate change using a whole-systems approach. He bridges research and practice by engaging a diverse range of stakeholders in the UK and beyond. Dr Kuriakose employs both quantitative and qualitative methods to explore key socio-technological innovations for the energy sector — such as heat pumps, energy storage, solar PV, demand flexibility, and hydropower — essential to the low-carbon transition while ensuring their resilience to climate change impacts. Jaise was a co-investigator on the DESNZ-funded ‘CS-N0W’ project to improve scientific understanding of climate risks to the UK’s energy infrastructure and ways to enhance the UK’s energy resilience. Jaise was selected as a top 100 BAME climate expert in the UK by Climate Reframe for his work on carbon budgets and climate targets that align with the Paris Agreement which has influenced more than 250 local authorities in the UK.

He is part of the Co-design of community-owned energy projects (Co-E-opt) project.
