Alexandra is a co-investigator of the Co-design of community-owned energy projects (Co-E-opt) project for the EDRC. She is a doctoral researcher at Alliance Manchester Business School, specializing in the performative power of advanced climate commitments and the institutionalization of ‘beyond net zero’ strategies. She brings a strong background that effectively bridges academic rigor with practical impact, having over 10 years of industry experience in policy shaping and leading non-profit environmental organizations.
Alexandra is also a Research Associate on the Community Owned Renewable Energy (CORE) project. In this role she is responsible for leading the analysis of ownership models and governance frameworks, focusing specifically on how co-design methodologies foster genuine stakeholder ownership in local renewable energy initiatives. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Community Benefit Society after which the project is named, where she leads the implementation of projects and conducts feasibility studies funded by various grants, ensuring academic research ensures practical delivery. This dual role leverages her expertise in climate policy and her commitment to advancing climate action through robust, community-led solutions.
