Shawn is a Research Fellow in the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh. He is a social geographer with expertise in public space, participatory design, and community wealth building. His research combines detailed interaction analysis with long-term ethnography to understand how communities pursue social and environmental change in everyday life, and to inform policy strategies for collaborative, community-led placemaking.
