Dr. Ren Kang joined the EDRC as a part-time postdoctoral researcher, working with Professor Jacopo Torriti on the flexibility theme.
He spends the rest of his time as the Head of Research and Development at Mixergy, an Oxford University spin-out company focused on developing energy-efficient domestic thermal stores that enhance electrical grid flexibility and enable increased renewable energy installations.
Ren completed his DPhil at the Energy and Power Group at Oxford University, focusing on control development for demand-side management using domestic thermal and electrical storage devices.
