Dr Hui Yan is a Research Fellow at School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham. Her research expertise includes steady-state and dynamic modelling, performance analysis, optimization and control of low-carbon, efficient and flexible energy systems.
She previously worked as a Research Associate at University of Manchester, on an EPSRC-funded project of energy storage integration for a net zero grid. Her work investigated the strategic use of energy storage to ensure the flexibility and resilience of the power grid with different penetrations of renewable generation. She has also been involved in the EU-RISE project at University of Sheffield.
