Giulia is the Principal Investigator for the Advancing Global Collaboration and Equity in Energy Demand Research: Engaging Early Career Researchers Through the NEST 2025 Platform Flexible Fund project.

Giulia is a social scientist working in energy, gender and sustainability transitions. She is currently working as a Research Associate on the UKRI/ERC-funded GENERATE project, examining energy precarities in the Western Balkans by adopting feminist perspectives. 
Giulia’s research explores issues of inequality and power dynamics with a particular focus on gender differences, highlighting the necessity of integrating such critical investigations into energy policy and governance. She has been working on several research projects in the UK, India and Africa focusing on women’s empowerment, citizen co-benefit from energy demand reduction, relational approaches to retrofitting, and gendered analysis of socio-technical implications of energy transitions. In addition to her research expertise, Giulia also worked for different agencies within the fields of sustainability and international development.
