Fan is a PhD student at Centre for Sustainability in the University of Surrey. He is interested in decarbonisation of energy systems, economic and environmental impacts analysis and modelling. His PhD research topic is on the whole system impacts of energy storage in decarbonisation of power systems, which links the bottom-up and top-down models to investigate the role of energy storage at the economy-wide level.
He has a background in economics and graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (China) with a Master degree in 2022. Before this, he got a BSc in Human resource management at Harbin University of Science and Technology (China). Fan also has research experience in Input-Output Analysis, carbon emission accounting, structure decomposition analysis (SDA), and structure path analysis (SPA).
