Yousef G. Akhlaghi is a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester and Principal Investigator of the Spatial analysis of low carbon retrofit impacts and grid resilience under housing electrification in UK urban areas project on housing decarbonisation and grid resilience. He is an energy engineer with over ten years of experience across academia and industry, specialising in low-carbon technologies, renewable energy systems, and the impacts of climate change on energy demand.
His research focuses on spatial energy modelling, grid resilience, and housing retrofit strategies to support the UK’s net-zero transition. Before joining Manchester, he worked as a Senior Energy Consultant at Jacobs
