Dr. Shivangi Sharma is a Senior Research Fellow at the Birmingham Energy Institute specialising in sustainable energy solutions, industrial efficiency improvement and industrial decarbonisation. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, MSc in and Sustainable Energy Systems and a PhD in building-integrated concentrated photovoltaic (BICPV) systems, she brings over a decade of expertise in energy systems research and innovation.
Dr. Sharma has collaborated with over 50 SMEs, driving industrial efficiency projects that focus on integrating cutting-edge renewable technologies and energy-saving strategies. She has successfully led, and co-investigated projects valued at over £1.5M, contributing to advancements in energy performance, decarbonisation, and smart energy efficiency improvement solutions. Her research combines practical industry experience with advanced technical knowledge to develop scalable solutions that promote energy efficiency and sustainability.
Dr. Sharma is committed to advancing the transition to low-carbon energy systems, supporting both academic research and the implementation of innovative technologies within real-world contexts. She is also an Academic Fellow of the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) and a Committee Specialist at the House of Commons
