Dr James Price

My research focuses on modelling future low carbon energy systems both nationally for the UK, across Europe and at the global scale. I’m particularly interested in transitions to highly renewable energy systems which are socially and environmentally sustainable. This led to the development of highRES which, with its hourly time resolution, is ideally suited to understand how to integrate renewables into the UK and European energy systems. In addition, more recently I have been involved in research around low energy demand futures for the UK and fossil fuel phase out, needed to achieve global and UK climate goals and to bolster energy security
