Gesche is Professor of Environment & Human Health and Director of the European Centre for Environment & Human Health at the University of Exeter. In EDRC, she conducts empirical research on inequalities related to energy and the built environment, with a focus on health implications. She also leads on mapping out the equity space, and engages with a wide range of stakeholders.
Gesche is committed to promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and has held various roles in relation to EDI such as departmental Director of EDI in her previous post. Gesche also champions open science practices.
Her previous research focused on determinants of energy consumption and temperatures in homes, the link between temperatures and health and how climate change might impact on this relationship.
She has a background in Psychology / Neuroscience (PhD).
