Faye is a social scientist focusing on the knowledge and expertise critical to delivering the buildings and infrastructure needed to tackle climate change. This spans a variety of actor groups including construction professionals, broader supply chains, and local and national governments. Faye’s research has included detailed ethnography with heating engineers, working with local authorities in an evaluation of Scottish Government’s national scale retrofitting programme and Social Network Analysis to map communication within retrofitting supply chains. Within the Place theme, Faye is leading a work package on ‘Creating a skilled workforce tailored to delivering regional energy transitions., and with the EDRC she is working on the Transition Challenge: Realising Net Zero through Green Jobs and Skills. Her projects will be particularly exploring young people’s perceptions of low carbon jobs and the role of community leaders in the circulation of talk about energy demand.
