Dr. Arman Alahyari is a research associate in Smart Grids and Energy Systems at Newcastle University. His work focuses on the integration of renewable energy, electrified transport, and distributed energy resources through advanced optimisation and machine learning.

He has contributed to several multi-million-pound projects on energy resilience and decarbonisation, including collaborations with UK and international grid operators. He is currently the Principal Investigator of the Grid Connection for a Net-Zero future project funded by the Energy Demand Research Centre. He also serves as an Associate Editor for the e-Prime Elsevier Journal. 

He is part of the Grid Connections for a Net-Zero Future: a collaborative workshop with AEMO on overcoming challenges and unlocking flexibility project, funded through EDRC Flexible fund.
