Alexander is a co-investigator of the Co-design of community-owned energy projects (Co-E-opt) project for the EDRC. He is a doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester and a member of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, studying the impacts of climate change on the delivery of decarbonisation strategies.

He has extensive experience and expertise in GIS-based modelling, involving analysis incorporating weather data, assessments of climate hazards, infrastructure mapping, and simulations of solar radiation exposure. As part of the Co-E-opt project, his role covers the techno-economic feasibility analyses of the sites involved in the project, establishing a framework for community-based renewable resource assessment.
