This Flexible Fund is to support impact acceleration beyond existing plans via user engagement and knowledge exchange, enabling new approaches (e.g. new collaborations and partnerships) to impact activities that strengthen EDRC’s capacity building and legacy.
EDRC Impact Acceleration Fund
Main purpose:
These activities can include additional co-produced activity (including for example artistic outputs, tools, models, events, and products developed with external partners). This fund allows EDRC’s expanding team to undertake impact activities as the centre’s research portfolio grows.
Maximum amount of EDRC funding per project:
£20,000 per project or collaboration (80% fEC).
Start date:
This fund is now on pause and will relaunch again in Autumn 2026. Please note that applications are not being accepted at this time and will not be reviewed.
Eligibility and who can apply:
EDRC existing team.
Requirements:
- These funds can be applied for externally facing activities for knowledge exchange and impact activities with external partners and stakeholders.
- The funds can be used for producing outputs (e.g. policy briefs, blogs, infographics, podcasts, videos, zines, comics etc.) and events (e.g. facilitated workshops, panel discussions and exhibitions etc.).
- Applications must indicate how the impact is additional to that planned and budgeted in the core Centre activity, and how it is aligned to the Theory of Change.
- Applicants will also need to detail EDI considerations in research design, data management and justification of resources (see also Appendix 3 Application form details).
Outcomes:
Details of how funds have been used, links to a specific EDRC Theme or Challenge, outputs and project specific KPIs identified in application stage, achieved impact.
