Policy expert and leader with 14 years of experience working in the Civil Service. Sophia Berry is Head of Net Zero Policy at the Department for Transport. She leads on cross-cutting and enabling policies to help deliver transport decarbonisation including; research and development with a local transport decarbonisation focus, green finance, growth, green jobs and skills. Sophia has extensive policy and leadership experience and has worked in multiple departments across government. Before joining the DfT in early 2023, Sophia led policy work on medicines, including leading a team to support the regulatory process for new COVID-19 treatments.
